Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.
The first version of AutoCAD, the 1982 Release 1, was a simple drawing program only designed to draw basic geometric shapes in a 2D drawing area. It was a modified version of the software called CADDx, which was developed by CADD Corporation. The developers of AutoCAD moved the company in 1986 to San Rafael, California, United States, and re-branded the product Autodesk. In 1990, the company launched AutoCAD 2.1 and the following year introduced AutoCAD LT for the Macintosh, which allowed users to create CAD drawings on their personal computers. In 1991, the product was expanded with the introduction of AutoCAD 3.0, which was the first version that allowed users to connect to an AutoCAD database. AutoCAD 3.0 was the first product to sell for more than US$100.
In 1997, the first version of AutoCAD Map, with GIS support, was introduced. That same year, AutoCAD was renamed AutoCAD Map 3D. In 1998, AutoCAD Modeler was added to AutoCAD LT, allowing users to design models within the program. In 1999, the last version of the main product was released with AutoCAD Map 3D for the AutoCAD LT users, and 3D models were also introduced in AutoCAD Professional. AutoCAD 2009 followed with a new version of 3D modeling and the introduction of.DWG files, which allowed users to save drawings to a Web server to open the drawings in their web browser and in other programs.

First release of AutoCAD for the Mac in early 1982. AutoCAD is sold as a desktop application for the Apple II series of computers running the CP/M operating system. The first product release, AutoCAD Release 1, is primarily a drawing program designed for users who create basic, two-dimensional (2D) drawings.
The company is renamed Autodesk. The product AutoCAD is introduced for the Macintosh by the developers of the other AutoCAD programs.
AutoCAD LT for the Macintosh is introduced. It was designed to run on a personal computer, which allows users to create 2D drawings, such as technical drawings, on their home computers.
The product AutoCAD is renamed AutoC

Query with variable column name in SQL Server
I am working with SQL Server 2008 R2. I want to return rows in a table that contains a certain column name. The names are dynamic and are assigned by a stored procedure. Is this possible?
In my example the name of the column is COL_STATE and I would like to select only the rows which contain that column.
I have tried this:
SELECT * FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS WHERE TABLE_NAME LIKE ‘TABLE_NAME’
but this returns the rows of all columns from the table not only those columns with a column name like COL_STATE.
SELECT * FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS WHERE TABLE_NAME = ‘TABLE_NAME’ AND COLUMN_NAME = ‘COL_STATE’;
Replace ‘TABLE_NAME’ with your table name.
